About Seedance
What it is
Seedance is the video generation model from ByteDance's Seed team. Version 2.5 generates picture and sound together, up to 30 seconds in one go and extendable twice, from a text prompt, still images or reference clips, and it can edit existing footage.
Why it's different
It is built for production rather than one-off clips: longer single takes than most rivals, audio made with the picture, reference video read for framing and camera language, and tools such as green-screen editing. The limitation is how you reach it. ByteDance does not sell it as an app of its own; it comes through Dreamina, Jimeng in China or the BytePlus API, and many lookalike sites resell access under its name, so check where you are before you pay.
How people use it
Most people try it in Dreamina, describing a scene or uploading a still and a reference clip, then extending or editing what comes back. Developers call it through the BytePlus API and pay per generation. Because so many unofficial sites carry the name, start from ByteDance's own page, Dreamina or BytePlus, never from a search ad.
