Alai turns prompts and imported content into slide decks, producing four distinct design options per slide rather than one fixed layout, and keeping everything fully editable afterwards. It is a Y Combinator-backed product aimed at people who make decks regularly rather than at one-off use.
Why it's different
The editability is the point and the reason to prefer it over most generators. A typical AI deck arrives as a finished artifact that looks reasonable and fights you the moment you need to change anything — which is always, because the content was approximately right and the meeting is tomorrow. Producing several design options per slide also addresses the real failure mode: a generated deck where every slide is the same layout reads as generated no matter how good the words are. Against Gamma it is narrower, and against PowerPoint with a decent template it is faster but less controllable. The design range is also finite, so decks made with it start to look like each other.
How people use it
