About Animaker
What it is
Animaker is an online animation studio for people who do not animate. You pick a template, build scenes from a library of characters, props and backgrounds, and time them against a voiceover. The same company runs adjacent tools for subtitles, voiceover and footage editing.
Why it's different
It is deliberately template-first, which is what makes a finished explainer possible in an afternoon for someone who has never opened animation software. That is also the limit: everything made in it reads as having been made in it, character rigs move in a fixed set of ways, and anything genuinely bespoke is faster to commission than to fight the editor for. Judge it as a fast route to a competent explainer, not as a creative tool.
How people use it
Explainer and training videos. Internal comms and onboarding material. Social animation where turnaround matters more than originality. Write and record the voiceover first, then build scenes to it, because retiming an animated scene after the fact is where most of the work goes.
