About Together AI
What it is
Together AI hosts a wide library of open models - chat, code, image, video and vision - behind serverless and dedicated endpoints, with batch inference, fine-tuning, and GPU clusters for teams that need their own compute.
Why it's different
Breadth is the argument. Switching between open models is normally a redeployment; here it is a string change, which makes actually comparing them cheap enough to do properly instead of picking one on a benchmark and hoping. The path from serverless to dedicated capacity without changing vendor is the other advantage. Against dedicated specialists it is not the fastest option, and hosted open models still lag closed frontier models on the hardest reasoning.
How people use it
Evaluating several open models on your own task. Running open models in production without owning GPUs. Fine-tuning and then serving the result in one place. Evaluate on your own data rather than the leaderboard, because model rankings and the model that works for your task are only loosely related.
