Founded in Paris in 2019, it replaces the large linked spreadsheet most organisations actually plan in with a modelling engine that several teams can work in at once.
Why it's different
The competitor is not really Anaplan or Adaptive — it is Excel, which runs an enormous share of corporate planning and fails in specific ways: nobody knows which version is current, one broken formula silently changes a forecast, and scenario comparison means saving copies. Pigment's advantages are a real modelling engine, live data connections and multiple people working without collision.
