What it is
Goldfish builds a searchable memory of your work from the context it captures on your machine, stored in a local database, and drafts replies in your own tone when you press the Option key. It runs on the Mac rather than in a browser tab, so the memory spans whatever you are actually working in rather than one application. It is free.
Why it's different
Two things distinguish it. Running locally means the memory of your work — messages, documents, whatever it captured — stays on your machine, which is the difference between a tool you can use with confidential material and one you cannot. And drafting from an accumulated memory of how you write produces something closer to your voice than a general model prompted with a subject line.
